Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – February 20, 2022 – Once again, Lucas Porter (USA) put the United States on the podium competing in the 2022 Sunshine Tour. Going up against many of the best riders in the world at the renowned venue, Porter teamed up with C-Hunter for a third-place finish in the €30,480 Medium Tour Grand Prix CSI 4* last Sunday.

 A total of eight combinations out of the 62 starters had qualified for the jump-off but one decided not to take part in , so just seven horses jumped in the decisive phase.  After finishing third in the Small Grand Prix CSI 4* on E. Clinton one week before, Porter (USA) was powered back to the the podium. The young talented rider rode ‘C Hunter’ (Cassini II x Corland) towards bronze honors, completing, his second clean performance in 36.75 seconds.

The United States of America was well represented in the contest tooby another of its group of young talented equestrians since American riders took the third and fourth places. Winner of the €95,200 Horseware Grand Prix CSI 4* one week before, Michael Hughes (USA) and ‘Melodie-K Van’t Kattenheye (Cornet Obolenski x Kannan) rounded out the top four as the only other combination that left all the poles up in the tiebreaker, doing so in 37.74 seconds.
