Aaron Vale Victorious in $50,000 Hits Grand Prix CSI 2* at Ocala

Ocala, Florida, USA – February 05, 2022 – Three weeks of the 2022 HITS Ocala Winter Circuit are now complete! The Ocala Premiere featured the first of seven weeks of FEI CSI2* competition, along with special classes for Jumpers and Hunters at the National level. Read on for the winners of Week III’s featured competition.

Saturday’s $50,000 FEI Grand Prix concluded the week’s FEI competition. Aaron Vale (USA) advanced to the jump-off round early, and for a while it looked like he would have no competition. However, with the final three attempts at the first round, Dorothy Douglas (USA) and Carly Campbell-Cooper, as well as a second ride for Vale, joined the second round. Vale’s first attempt at the short course, with I Adermie R4 for Lori Osterstock, was clean and fast, setting the Great American Time to Beat at 43.653. Douglas made the next run, which came up just short. Campbell-Cooper’s attempt was ended with a downed rail on the third jump, which only left the question of which horse Vale would take to the winner’s circle. Vale’s second ride couldn’t quite match his first, giving the win to he and I Adermie R4
