Sunday afternoon’s $50,000 Hits Grand Prix provided spectacular competition. A stacked field of six advanced from Oscar Soberon’s (MEX) first round course to the jump-off. The first to take to the short course, Hunter Holloway (USA) set the Great American Time to Beat at 41.392. Two riders later, Rowan Willis (AUS) was on top with his time of 40.623. The lead would change one more time, when Willis was followed by eventual winner Daniel Geitner (USA), who set a new Great American Time to Beat of 39.539 seconds. Up next, Aaron Vale (USA) just missed out on taking the top spot by mere fractions of a second. Finally, Dorothy Douglas‘s attempt was thwarted with a rail on the fourth jump, securing the win for Geitner and Vesta de Lavardin, whose owners, November Hill, were thrilled to finally be in attendance for a big win!
