Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – October 14, 2026 – Laura Chapot (USA) is one of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show’s winningest riders, and that proved to be the case again on Wednesday, as open jumper competition got underway at the 80th annual show.

Chapot and her own Ginola kicked off their week at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with a win in the $10,000 1.40m Two Phase. They stopped the clock in a lightning-fast time of 30.240 seconds, while second place with a time of 35.924 seconds went to Adam Sklansky (USA) and Domo Z, owned by Blackjack Gardens Equine.

Rounding out the top three on 37.807 seconds were Hillary Johnson (USA) and Christian D’Or, owned by Johnson.  

Chapot has been partnered with Ginola since the now 10-year-old Selle Français gelding was 6, and she has been producing him up the ranks step-by-step since then. 

“I’m really excited with his performance today,” said Chapot. “He was really with me everywhere. He likes to leave out strides, and it’s easy for him because he has a massive stride. That was very helpful in this course because I was able to leave one out after the combination and then to the last jump.” 

Chapot will next point Ginola at Thursday night’s $30,000 Desert International Horse Park 1.40m Welcome, before tentatively eyeing Saturday’s finale $100,000 Forrester Farm Equipment Grand Prix de Penn National as well. 

“Harrisburg has just a great atmosphere; it’s a great place to show,” concluded Chapot. “The ring is very nice for the horses. It’s one of the bigger indoor rings that we have. They’ve made so many improvements to the facility. It’s a pleasure to be here now. There are plenty of places to exercise the horses; there’s lots of room to warm up, and it’s a great environment to show in, especially for indoors.”
