Nicholas Dello Joio Claims Top Honors in the $65,000 J.P. Morgan Private Bank Welcome Stake CSI 4*

North Salem, New York – September 11, 2026 – Of the 30 entries representing six nations who competed in Friday’s $65,000 Welcome Stake CSI 4*, presented by J.P. Morgan Private Bank, it was Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) and Cornet’s Cambridge who came away with top honors. The pair sliced their way around the jump-off track to post the winning time of 36.82 seconds.

Alan Wade (IRL) set a technical 16-effort course at 1.50m for the $65,000 Welcome Stake CSI 4*, which narrowed the starting field to 12 horse-and-rider combinations in the jump-off. Nine ultimately went double clear, with Dello Joio and The Berry Group’s 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding handily finishing in 36.82 seconds.

“I honestly wasn’t expecting how fast the round went,” Dello Joio said. “Today was fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to jump him around this big and in a jump-off. I was a little surprised at the number of clears; Alan always does a great job. Today, he utilized the hills. Everything was technical. The jumps came up quick, and it was full spec. I think that’s another testament to this show and what they can do. The footing here is great, and horses jump off it really well.”

**Lucy Davis Kennedy** (USA) & **Ben 431**

With just 0.06 seconds between them, Lucy Davis Kennedy (USA) and Samantha Schaefer made it an all-American podium. Davis Kennedy earned second place in 37.08 seconds aboard Ben 431, Old Oak Group’s 15-year-old Westphalian gelding.

**Samantha Schaefer** (USA) & **James Bond HX**

Schaefer and her winning mount from Thursday’s 4* Two-Phase, James Bond HX (Bonne Chance’s 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding), took third in 37.14 seconds.

The 2026 Shows host a CSI 4* & 2*, September 8-13, and a CSI 2*, September 15-20, with both weeks rated USEF ‘National’ for hunters. Additionally, Old Salem’s September schedule will include the ASPCA Maclay Region II Championship on Saturday, September 12; the Hollow Brook Horsepower Car Show on Sunday, September 13; and a USEF National/Level 2 event, September 24-27, featuring the $10,000 Old Salem Farm Jumper Classic.
