Wilmington, Ohio – May 23, 2026 – Show jumping action continued early Sunday morning at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC) with the $30,000 OSU Galbreath Equine Center Grand Prix closing out Spring 1. The field was large, but the winning faces were familiar as Izzy Beisel (USA) piloted Diaz Barbotiere (Messire Ardent x Qumabera Barbotiere) to yet another grand prix victory to add to their growing collection.
“He just absolutely loves every aspect of life,” she shared about her winningest 13-year-old Selle Francias gelding. “Anything I want to do, he’s totally down for. You name it, he’ll do it. One of the things we both love just happens to be jumping, and he 100% knows when the good days are good. He has a big ego in the barn, and out of all the horses I’ve ridden in my life, he genuinely loves his job so much. He also loves all the treats that come after, all the spoiling and everything that comes with it,” she laughed.

Their connection showed when they returned for the jump-off phase, designed by Alan Wade (IRL), as they stopped the clock in an uncatchable time of 33.45 seconds to take the win.

David Cameron (AUS) stopped the clock in 34.656 seconds for second place with Jay Land’s nine-year-old gelding, Final Edition (Comme Il Faut Plus x Staugaard’s Fantasy Royal).

Loic Cannaert (BEL) and Katherine Kaneb’s 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, One And Only (Diktator Van De Boslandhoeve x Bellefleur), rounded out the top three in 34.951 seconds.
Having been together for four years, Izzy explained that their partnership has continued to grow with experience.

“When we first got him, we were both pretty inexperienced,” she said. “We had done some things, but not enough to really be pros at anything. I feel like we’ve learned so much together and come such a long way with the help of my dad training me, my family supporting me, and all my friends.”
“He’s become such an amazing horse, and I think part of that is just his spirit, his desire to do well, and how much he loves it. But we’ve also become such great friends in and out of the barn. I spend hours with him every day. I was on him for an hour this morning just walking around and hanging out, not even doing anything. We spend so much time together that we think the exact same way now.”
