Two Americans on the Podium as Richard Spooner Secures Silver Honors in the $32,000 Two-Phase Special CSI 4*

Ocala, Florida, USA – February 26 , 2025 – Two Americans on the podium. The United States got off to a strong start in the CSI 4* last Wednesday at World Equestrian Center – Ocala. In the battle between two Richards, Richard Vogel (GER) nipped Richard Spooner (USA) in the  $32,000 Two-Phase Special CSI 4*. The 1.45m challenge was contested by 30 combinations but the German and Phenyo van het Keysersbos, the 10-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood stallion (Corydon van T&L x Heartbreaker), were supreme by being clean all the way to the wire, completing the second section of the course in 30.47 seconds.

Vogel blazed past two great American riders. In fact, Richard Spooner (USA) was right on his heels aboard Lyjanair, finishing just one-tenth of a second off the winning mark set by the German.

Kent Farrington (USA) & Orafina 

Kent Farrington (USA) and Orafina were a bit further back, rounding out the top three in 31.42 seconds.

Final Results – $32,000 Two Phase Special CSI 4* – 1.45m

1) Richard Vogel (GER) & Phenyo van het Keysersbos – 0 / 0 – 30.47

2) Richard Spooner (USA) & Lyjanair – 0 / 0 – 30.57

3) Kent Farrington (USA) & Orafina – 0 / 0 – 31.42
