Anna Dryden’s Strategy Proves Valuable en Route to Podium Finish in the $32,000 Winning Round CSI 4*

Ocala, Florida, USA โ€“ January 31, 2025 โ€“ Anna Dryden‘s (USA) strategy proved valuable on Friday at the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala. In the end, it paid off as she teamed up with Christians Carado ran away with bronze honors in the $32,000 Winning Round CSI 4* on Friday.

It happens that showjumping is a sport of strategy in regards to many aspects that determine whether or not competitors accomplish their goals when facing the questions posed by course designers and obstacles ahead of them. Keeping in mind the skill level of the rider and horse, many factors should be analysed before heading into the ring. From the course walk to a review of the round after it, there’s a lot.

When it comes to strategy, the winning round is the competition that affords the possibility of one winning despite having either time penalties or even a pole down in the first round and Anna Dryden (USA) took advantage of that. The top 10 automatically advance and the score and time in the final round is what counts. First by focusing on being clean to advance to the winning round despite two time penalties.

Once again Dryden (USA) was conservative in guiding Christians Carado in the decisive lap around the track. Although she a bit off the winning mark, her decision proved to be vital in securing third place after leaving all the poles up, crossing the finish line in 68.71 seconds.
