
Deauville, France โ August 12, 2023 โ It seems that the summer season on French soil has brought out the best inย Laura Krautย (USA) and her horses. After winning theย โฌ100,000 Grand Prix de La Ville de Chantillyย CSI 4*ย about a month earlier and before going on to finish second in theย โฌ97,800ย Longines Grand Prix de la Rรฉgion Normandie CSI 4*, Kraut claimed top honors in theย โฌ27,200ย Deauville Sothebyโs International Realty Small Grand Prix CSI 4*ย at theย Pรดle international du Cheval Longines โ Deauville.

The 1.45m jump-off competition was contested by a whopping 85 combinations but the challenging first-round course took a toll on the participants and only 13 of them managed to advance to the tiebreaker. In the end, it was Laura and Calgary Tame, a 11-year-old chestnut Selle Franรงais gelding (Old Chap Tame x Kashmir van Schuttershof) who tamed the course for a second time while securing the win in 36.94 seconds.
The host nation had victory snatched away from them as Marie Pellegrin (FRA) and Boreale de Fondcombe (Tinkaโs Boy x Calvaro) put on two valiant efforts but had to settle for second place due to their final tiem of 37.37 seconds.
Another foreigner who has excelled on his summer tour in Europe,ย Stephanย de Freitas Barchaย (BRA) guidedย Chevaux Hex Lup Impรฉrio Egรญpcioย also posted two penalty-free performances, rounding out the top three in 37.90 seconds.
