Natalie Dean Turns on the Nitro Taking the “High Speed Expressway” to Victory in the Banorte Challenge CSIO 5*

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – April 29, 2023 – Mexican cities and beaches are the favorite getaways for Americans and the same thing can be said about showjumping events. Enjoying the ambiance and feeding off the energy of excited spectators, another American rider claimed the spotlight on Saturday during the CSIO 5* of Mexico at the stunning Otomí Club Hípico.

This time, it was Natalie Dean (USA) who shone the brightest for the red-white and blue, teaming up with Nespresso van’t Laekhof for the win in the MXN $590,500 Banorte Jump-off Challenge CSIO 5*. Dean and Marigold Sporthorses’ 10-year-old bay gelding (Cicero Z x Grandeur) dashed towards top honors against 7 other combinations in the decisive round, out of the original 52 pairs who entered the ring in the first round.

Juan Manuel Luzardo (URU) and Big Stan conquered the second position on the podium, registering no penalties and a final time of 40.45 seconds.

Throughout the week, Mexican fans were not disappointed and that continued as Eduardo Sánchez Navaro (MEX) guided Werika (VDL Zirocco Blue x Ogano Sitte) for bronze honors, doing so in 40.91 seconds.
