Wellington, Florida, USA – March 09, 2022 – Natalie Thornell (USA) & Jamiroquai channeled the horse’s namesake English funk band last week to deliver a rhythmic and jazzy double clear effort in the 9th $15,000 1.40M Turf Tour Grand Prix of 2022. Trained by Wilhelm Genn and a regular on the 2022 Turf Tour, Thornell and the Loveland Equine Investment’s dapple grey gelding were the final ride of the day, jumping-off in 41.692 seconds for the win against competitors that included Israel’s Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Ireland’s Jonathan Corrigan (IRL).
The Turf Tour’s Grand Prix, Rising Star Classic, and 1.20-1.25M courses are designed as a foundation for training and developing, as well as winning generous prize money. The weekly classes offer almost $25,000 and new venues jumping on the grass around Wellington. March 12-13 the hunters take the field for a $5,000 Mini Derby, $5,000 Low Derby, $5,000 3′-3’3’6′ Derby, and a $5,000 Open Hunter Derby with no association fees!
