Thermal, California, USA – December 5, 2021 – Adrienne Sternlicht (USA) had been knocking on the door in pursuit of a win throughout the first week of the competition of the Major League Show Jumping / Desert Holiday Series and the young American accomplished the feat. Sternlicht teamed up with Lafayette van Overis to claim top honors in the $72,900 Purina Winning Round CSI 5* at Desert International Horse Park last Sunday.
Riding the Starlight Farms’ 10-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood gelding (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Tauber An het Kapelhof), Adrienne advanced to and completed the winning round without knocking a single pole down, nor having any penalties attributed to her scorecard, while still managing to register the fastest time of 40.56 seconds for the win.
Nicky Galligan (IRL) and Java Miss Jordan (Luidam x Obos Quality 4) were over a second slower than the eventual winners, still managing to secure a second-place finish due to their final time of 41.69 seconds.
Katie Laurie (AUS) and Cera Caruso (Casall x Capone) had another solid outing, this time aboard Cera Caruso, guiding the Australian Warmblood mare towards bronze honors in 42.87 seconds.
