Wellington, Florida, USA – October 14, 2021 – Essex Classics will welcome a new organization to its family of charity apparel this fall, as the company’s “Green is the New Blue” ties made their debut at the 2021 Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Essex Classics’ collection of charitable show shirts and ties supports causes that have had an impact on the equestrian industry, with a portion of sales directly supporting selected charities. In addition to ties, the Green is the New Blue line will feature a selection of technical show shirts. This will include the new “Dusk” Jumper Performance Show Shirts in navy—fully incorporating the charity’s colors.
“I am so excited to launch our newest charity line with Green is the New Blue,” said Essex Classics Founder Cathy Sacher. “Stephanie and Scot share my passion for giving back to the industry, and their Green is the New Blue initiative does tremendous work to make the environment better for our horses and riders. I look forward to seeing these new shirts and ties worn at competitions across the country.”
Led by amateur rider and longtime horse owner Stephanie Bulger, alongside Creative Director Scot Evans, Green is the New Blue is a non-profit that strives to reduce the environmental impacts of equine-related events and activities. Educating the equine industry about best practices for sustainability and ecological safety, Green is the New Blue provides horse show managers, farm owners and equestrian enthusiasts with easy-to-implement tools to incorporate green practices into their daily operations—making an impact that’s even greater than that of a blue ribbon.
At Capital Challenge, where Essex Classics recognizes champions with shirt certificates, Green is the New Blue replaced water bottles at the ingate with recyclable cartons, filled with 100 percent purified water. At venues around the country, the organization has also implemented a “living jump” to promote the biodiversity of local ecosystems and engaged young riders in conversations about environmental studies.
Green is the New Blue joins Danny and Ron’s Rescue, the Peeps Foundation and Shuck Parkinson’s in Essex Classics’ Charity Collection. To learn more about and support these causes, visit EssexClassics.com.
