
Rotterdam, The Netherlands – July 02, 2021 – The American showjumpers have performed very well today. This friday’s second jumping competition was also won by a member of their team: McLain Ward (USA) and Catoki.
43 riders competed in the Aon prize, a 1.45 competition against the clock. Fifteen combinations cleared the course without any mistakes. Best home rider was Kevin Jochems with his twelve-year-old Balou Z. The pair finished tenth.
The American and the 12-year-old bay Westphalian stallion (Catoki x Caretello B) sped around the track flawlessly, tripping the timers in 61.07 seconds for the victory.
Belgian rider Francois Mathy Jr (BEL) and Casanova de l’Herse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir van Schuttershof) finished second, matching Ward’s clean performance but with a much slower time of 63.71 seconds.
American rider Adrienne Sternlicht (USA) came in third place with Lafayette van Overis (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Tauber an het Kapelhof), registering no penalties in 64.08 seconds.
As Swiss rider Bryan Balsinger (SUI) has his birthday today, the Rotterdam Arena celebrated with his with a rendition of the song ‘happy birthday’.
