Highlights from the Sacramento Memorial Day Classic

Rancho Murieta, California, USA – May 30, 2021 – The West Palms Events Sacramento Memorial Day Classic (May 27-30) kicked off two weeks of spring competition at the Murieta Equestrian Center! We had some great riders and fun celebrations throughout the week.

Kevin Winkel (USA) and Maplewood Inc’s Osophia sealed the win in the $20,000 Sacramento Memorial Day Grand Prix. In second place was Daniel Zilla (USA) and Chromatic BF and in third place was Karrie Rufer (USA) aboard Mai Tai 2.

It was a competitive class with ten riders returning for the jump-off. Karrie (USA) and Mai Tai 2 put in two clear rounds with a jump-off time of 32.847 seconds, leaving the door open for Kevin to put the pedal to the metal. As the ninth pair to jump-off, Kevin and Osophia posted a jump-off time of 32.251 seconds. Daniel Zilla tried to catch them but fell fractions of a second short with a time of 32.467 seconds.
