Upper Marlboro, Maryland – October 25, 2026 – Lillie Keenan (USA) won the Leading Lady Rider Award, presented by Martha W. Jolicoeur of Douglas Elliman, at the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) CSI5*-W held from October 20-24, 2026, in Upper Marlboro, MD.
The Leading Lady Rider Award is presented to the female athlete who accumulates the most points throughout the week in the international show jumping division. Having already enjoyed a top finish in Thursday evening’s $63,000 Jumping Stake, Keenan riding Kick On won the $340,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Washington on Saturday night.
With maximum points earned for the World Cup victory, Keenan cemented her place at the top of the Leading Lady Award standings. In recognition of her achievement, Keenan was presented with the Martha W. Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider title.
“In our sport, it is really important to lift women up, especially in America,” said Keenan, 30, who has represented the United States at the past two editions of the World Championships. “We are unique in that our national team has a high percentage of women that can compete at this level, but you don’t see that across the board from the other countries. So I think it’s fantastic that we really honor the women that stick with the sport long term.
“We see so many little girls that are riding in the pony hunters but as they grow up, the sport gets tough at a higher level and the lifestyle is challenging and demanding,” continued Keenan. “I’d love to see more women stick with it, and it’s great to have an award that really represents that and gives women something they can aim for.”
It’s a sentiment that Jolicoeur, as a former grand prix competitor, can appreciate. Now a top-ranked real estate broker with Douglas Elliman, Jolicoeur was once winning international jumping classes at the Washington International Horse Show herself in the 1980s.
