New Partner Propels Tracey Fenney to First in the $40,000 The Polo Pony National Grand Prix

Ocala, Florida, United States – The $40,000 The Polo Pony National Grand Prix served as the final featured class of Week II of the 2026 Winter Spectacular Show Series at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC). Twenty-seven horse-and-rider combinations contested the class, but it was Tracy Fenney (USA) who ultimately claimed the top spot aboard her new mount, MTM Myrbalia O (Davenport VDL x Imke-Balia O), owned by MTM Farm.

Ben Townley (GBR) once again designed the track in the WEC Grand Arena, setting a course that saw horses jumping in top form throughout the afternoon. Thirteen combinations advanced to the jump-off, though the short course proved more demanding, with only four producing double-clear efforts.

Fenney was the first to deliver a clear jump-off round with MTM Myrbalia O, executing a confident plan from the start. “The more you challenge her, the better she is. So, I kind of just pulled the trigger. One to two, I thought was good, then the five worked out perfect. I angled the Coca-Cola jump like it didn’t matter,” she laughed. “Then the last line, I had to pull her to the left, so I had more room, and then I just walked down the seven.”

Her time of 35.535 seconds proved unbeatable, and Fenney and the coming nine-year-old KWPN mare secured the win and the lion’s share of the prize money.

Known for her string of talented grey mares, Fenney added MTM Myrbalia O as the third to her lineup. “All my grey girls. She fits right in. I think we’ve had her for two or three months, not very long. When you ride her at home, she’s very sweet and soft, not very cantankerous, and in the ring, she’s a lot of horse and likes me to let go. Saturday nights are great for her; the more you put in front of her, the better she is.”

Ireland’s Darragh Kerins (IRL) followed closely in second place aboard his own 15-year-old Holsteiner gelding, Lissino (Guardus Limbus x Lagumera B). Kerins delivered a quick, clear jump-off round, stopping the clock at 35.990 seconds, just fractions behind the winning time.

Charlie Jones (GBR) completed the podium with KMBC Equestrian’s 12-year-old KWPN gelding, Jacksonville Eurohill (Emerald x Fyolieta), posting an efficient jump-off time of 36.683 seconds to take third.

Sharn Wordley earned the ‘Fastest Four Faulter’ award after piloting Valentine Car to the quickest first-round time of 70.060 seconds with one rail down.

Todd Minikus received the ‘Luck of the Draw’ award.
