Amenia, United States – October 01, 2025 – The Silo Ridge Masters returned to the Highlands Horse Show in Amenia, NY, on Wednesday to launch two weeks of elite show jumping in the idyllic Hudson Valley of New York. Nick Dello Joio (USA), hailing from only an hour south in Bedford, NY, cut the ribbon on the week by winning the $15,000 EquiScore 1.40m aboard For Friendship VDL.
Dello Joio commented on the proximity of his own Wembley Farm’s northern base by saying, “Shows like this so close to home mean everything to us. Last year, this show surprised everyone and we were super excited to come back to the show. The Torres Family do a fabulous job. You can really tell the whole team puts in a ton of effort to have a great show for us.”
For Friendship VDL, a For Pleasure son—is owned by CSH Equine and a new ride of Dello Joio’s student Cristian Hacker, a freshman at the University of Miami. Hacker will take over the reins this weekend.
“For a stallion, he’s extremely calm, polite and a real pleasure to ride,” said Dello Joio of the 9-year-old. “I’m excited for Cristian to have such a nice horse. We wanted to get him in the ring to acclimate and luckily it went well for us.”
Rounding out the podium in EquiScore 1.40m, Alison Robitaille (USA) of Middleburg, VA, finished second riding Porto Cristo B to a time of 33.637 seconds, less than a second shy of Dello Joio’s winning time (32.875). Sophia Mitchell (USA) of Wrightsville Beach, NC, finished third in the irons of Guatemala Loisel in a final time of 34.158 seconds.
