Doha, Qatar – March 26, 2026 – The 2026 Al Shaqab Cup got underway today at Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, marking the return of the Doha Equestrian Tour with four days of competition across CSI 5*, CSI 3*, CSI 1* and CSIY-B levels. The event is being held in a controlled environment, with live coverage available across broadcast platforms and Doha Equestrian Tour social media channels.

The highlight of the day was the €57,000 Speed Challenge CSI 5*, contested by 18 combinations. In the end, it was Kristen Vanderveen (USA) and Bull Run’s Jireh who prevailed, securing the win by clearing all the 1.50m obstacles and completing the course in 66.77 seconds.

Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) and Frenchy VDS flew to reserve honors, matching the clean performance of the winning duo, settling for second due to their time of 69.38 seconds.

A familiar face on the podium of the circuit, Gerfried Puck (AUT) rode Equitron Naxcel towards third-place, doing so in 73.48 seconds.
