Richard Rinehart Races Back to the Podium in the $30,000 Grand Prix of Wilmington

Wilmington, Ohio – March 07, 2026 – Richard Rinehart (USA) was back on the podium at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC), earning silver honors in the $30,000 Grand Prix of Winter Spring Forward. The pair also claimed the Welcome Stake earlier in the week, proving their dominance in the Standlee Sanctuary this Winter in the Midwest Series.

Canada’s Michael Pegg (CAN) laid the track for the field athletes that proved technical, as only two athletes jumped clear over the fences, one incurring a single a time fault: Wilhelm Genn (GER) and Richard Rinehart (USA), two of Wilmington’s winningest riders.

Rinehart was the first athlete to contest aboard his new addition to the barn, Victory Rw Broekkant Z (Vigo D’arsouilles x Evolution).

The 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding was clear over the fences, with one unfortunate tick over the clock to secure second place.

Wilhelm Genn (GER) and his promising young mare showed off her top form once again as the only horse in the field to jump fault free.

Zhappy Z, the eight-year-old Warmblood mare, marked her second win of the week and third career grand prix win.

Klaus Mauer’s 10-year-old Oldenburg mare, Katinka (Kannan x Maylin), Genn’s second mount of the class, jumped a four-fault round to ultimately round out the top three.
