Samantha Schaefer & James Bond HX Strikes Again in the $65,000 Budweiser Grand Prix CSI 2*

Ocala, United States – February 08, 2026 – The $65,000 Budweiser Grand Prix CSI 2* opened international competition on Sunday as 38 horse-and-rider combinations representing 11 nations competed for the win. After winning the $32,000 Budweiser Speed CSI 2* on Thursday Samantha Schaefer (USA) & James Bond HX had another solid outing.

Daniel Coyle (IRL) and Urville Z completed the jump-off course in flawless fashion, being timed in 35.52 seconds, thus the pair rose to the top of the leaderboard and couldn’t be caught.

Schaefer (USA) and the 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Douglas x Cash) rode their momentum on Sunday. She piloted the to a speedy, clear round in 36.38 seconds to take over second place, putting Dello Joio into third for good.

Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) & Elvis de L’Othain Z

Nicholas Dello Joio (USA) delivered a clear round riding Meralex Farm, Inc.’s nine-year-old Zangersheide gelding Elvis de L’othain Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Quidam De Revel) in 36.58 seconds to put the pressure on the rest. However, their mark would be good enough for bronze honors.
