Mimi Gochman & Lumiere BH Light Up to Win the Old Salem Farm Stake

North Salem, New York – August 23, 2025 – Mimi Gochman (USA) and Lumiere BH claimed top honors in the $10,000 Old Salem Farm Stake – 1.45m on Saturday, the final day of the 2025 Old Salem Farm Summer Jumper Classic. They were one of only two horse-and-rider combinations to post a double-clear score over the course designed by Oscar Soberon, blazing ahead of their fellow competitors in 37.259 seconds.

With the beautiful backdrop of Westchester County’s surrounding horse country, Old Salem Farm hosts a year-round schedule of world-class equestrian competition. The Old Salem Farm Summer Jumper Classic, August 20-23, takes place just a few weeks before the Old Salem Farm September Horse Shows presented by J.P. Morgan Private Bank, which feature FEI CSI 4* & 2* (September 9-14) and CSI 2* (September 16-21) events.

Gochman and Mimi Snow Sport Horse’s 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding are no strangers to the winner’s circle in the Old Salem Farm International Arena, having won the $15,000 SJHOF 1.40m Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic presented by Evergate Stables during the Spring Horse Shows in May. They once again showcased their speed and consistency in Saturday’s 1.45m Stake, tripping the timers 1.4 seconds faster than second-place finisher Philip McGuane (IRL). McGuane stopped the clock in 38.690 seconds aboard Crislin van den Bosrand Z, Evergate Stables’ 8-year-old Warmblood mare.

From the world-class field of entries, only two other riders made it to the jump-off alongside Gochman and McGuane: Vanessa Hood (ISR) and Ailish Cunniffe (USA). Hood piloted Take Two’s 14-year-old Oldenburg mare Easy Girl to third place with a four-fault score in 40.552 seconds.

Cunniffe finished fourth on a four-fault, 40.768-second score aboard Laura Sexton’s 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare Olivia SCF.
