Podium Finish in the $63,000 Lugano Grand Prix Qualifier CSIO 5* Puts Kent Farrington Closer to Number One Rider Ranking

Ocala, Florida, United States – March 20, 2025 – Kent Farrington (USA) continued his chase for precious points and the number one rider ranking in the world at World Equestrian Center (WEC) – Ocala. Setting the tone on opening day of the Longines League of Nations™ Ocala for what turned out to be a successful weekend for Team USA, the American teamed up with Myla for a very good result.

Forty-four athletes entered the $63,000 Lugano Grand Prix Qualifier CSIO 5*, which was held in a single-round format with the fastest time winning. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and Derby de Riverland were the winners but they faced their greatest challenge from American Kent Farrington (USA), currently number two in the Longines World Rankings. Riding Myla, a 10-year-old bay Holsteiner mare (Crunch 3 x Quadros) for owner Haity McNerney, Farrington was efficient with a time of 66.63 seconds but failed to put Philippaerts’ lead in jeopardy, thus earning reserve honors.

Final Results – $63,000 Lugano Grand Prix Qualifier CSIO 5*

1) Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) & Derby de Riverland – 0 – 64.08

2) Kent Farrington (USA) & Myla – 0 / 0 – 66.63
