Richard Rinehart’s Winning Ways Continue in the $30,000 Grand Prix of Wilmington

Wilmington, Ohio – March 22, 2025 – It was another victorious day for Richard Rinehart (USA), claiming the win in the $30,000 OSU Galbreath Equine Center Grand Prix at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington Winter Classic 15 aboard The Diamant Rose Z. Rinehart felt that Michael Pegg (CAN) set properly for the class, ultimately with a jump-off ending in a footrace between Rinehart and Izzy Beisel.

“Mike set a very nice course. It was very friendly, and the horses all jumped the track very well. I thought the jump-off was long enough that you could open and close the stride, you couldn’t run the whole way around. It was a good track for my horse because she is so fast across the ground,” Rinehart shared.

Aboard The Diamant Rose Z, Rinehart has racked up wins in Wilmington over the winter circuit and expressed his gratitude for the talent in his barn.

“She knows what she’s doing. She just walks right in and jumps this class. Our family is very lucky to have her, and Luke [Rinehart] really enjoys riding her too. We have been trading back and forth,” he laughed.

With the 14-year-old Zangersheide mare, Rinehart wasted no time around the short course to stop the clock in a winning time of 40.471 seconds.

“My plan was to just be efficient and open the stride where I could. After the black oxer, the fourth jump in the jump-off, she got away from me a little bit,” he noted. “I went wider in the turn then what I had pictured, but I was really happy that she was willing to come back so nicely to the in-and-out and made a great effort.”

Izzy Beisel (USA) & Contigo

Beisel returned to contest the jump-off with two of her mounts, Contigo and Vegas H, though she was unable to unseat Rinehart’s winning time.
