Jacqueline Ruyle is Electric Winning the $120,000 Stuller Power Solutions Grand Prix CSI 3*

Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA – October 12, 2024 – Notching another victory under the lights of Tryon Stadium with a win in the $120,000 Stuller Power Solutions Grand Prix CSI 3*, Jacqueline Ruyle (USA) layed out a double clear effort, partnered with San Chano (Sandro Boy x Chacco-Blue). Ruyle and San Chano toured the Nicholas Granat (USA) jump off course in 37.24 seconds to claim the top podium spot.

Conor O’Regan (IRL) rode the 2012 Belgian Warmblood gelding, Manchester (Quidam De Revel x Codex), owned by Delshore Horses LLC, to reserve honors on a time of 38.71 seconds.

Joining his fellow Irishman on the podium, Richie Moloney (IRL) and  Equinimity’s Coco Beach (Casall x San Patrignano Corrado), the 2012 Holstiener mare, marked 39.46 seconds in the jump off to place third.

Outshining the 32 total entries in the  Stuller Power Solutions Grand Prix, Jacqueline Ruyle found Nicholas Granat’s track a good fit for her mount. “I thought, while walking the course, that it was set nicely,” she noted. “I thought it looked big, but the track looked nice, and it was fun!”

Ruyle’s strategy in the jump off was simple – “go fast and leave the jumps up!” The Texas-based rider achieved this with ease, producing one of the four double clear performances in the Saturday’s Grand Prix.

As the highest placing female rider in the Grand Prix, Jacqueline Ruyle was awarded the Leading Lady Award presented by Marthaler Jewelers, alongside Director of Business Development Lynn Penny.

Having enjoyed much success with San Chano at Tryon International and beyond, Ruyle used the 2009 Oldenburg gelding’s characteristic swiftness to the team’s advantage. “He’s a very fast mover,” Ruyle explained. “He doesn’t have the biggest stride, but he’s a fast jumper and we just used our footspeed.”

Lalo Herrera was awarded the Groom’s Award presented by Champion Shavings for his care and dedication to San Chano, alongside Tryon International’s Drew Page.

In addition to keeping a busy competition schedule during the Tryon Fall Series presented by Coca-Cola, Ruyle and her husband Nick were among the countless volunteers who stepped in to help collect, organize, and distribute donations for Tryon International’s Hurricane Helene relief efforts. “It was so great for Tryon to really help out the community so much,” Ruyle expressed. “I consider Tryon my second home because I spend so much time here, and it was the least I could do to help hand out grain and hay for livestock. It was a no-brainer for me, because I really love the community here. My husband drove the forklift, and I was the manual labor, which is typically how our relationship goes!”
