
Dinard, France – July 18, 2024 – McLain Ward (USA) got off to a very good start on the first day of Jumping International de Dinard CSI 5* & CSI 3*, finishing second in the €28,200 Prix du Conseil Départemental d’Ille-et-Vilaine CSI 5*. It was a great opening to the competition, with the great champions already in attendance and determined to shine throughout the event..
The class was won by Julien Gonin (FRA) and was the main event on the first day of the CSI 5*, a stage in the Rolex Series, which brings together six CSI and CSIO 5* classes (La Baule, Dinard, Rome, Brussels, Dublin and Wellington).
As the fifteenth-ranked rider in the world, McLain Ward (USA), the double Olympic team champion (2004 and 2008) and world team champion, (2018), teaming up with First Lady, the 2013 bay Oldenburg mare (Don Diarado x Lordanos), to register the second-fastest flawless flight in the second phase, securing silver honors in 39.33 seconds.
