Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA – May 17, 2024 – Showjumping got off to a great start on Thursday during the third week of the Spring Series at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) and it was John Angus (USA) and W. Tonic Hero finished top of the leaderboard in Thurday’s $25,000 ProElite Feed Welcome Stake.
The American and the 21-year-old bay Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood gelding (Ogano Sitte x Major de La Cour) blazed through the timers with more than two full seconds to spare, ahead of 7 of the 8 (1 withdrew) combinations that had taken part in the tiebreaker.

Despite being much more conservative in their jump-off ride, Martien van der Hoeven‘s (USA) prudent approach with Chance Encounter paid off as the duo were the only other ones to register two clean performances, earning silver honors in 38.186 seconds.

Colin Syquia (USA) and Hocus Pocus had a pole down in the tiebreaker, rounding out the top three in 38.300 seconds.
