
Culpeper, Virginia, USA – April 21, 2024 – The 2024 Hits Culpeper series officially commenced as riders from near and far turned out for the Commonwealth National. The event marks the series’ solo spring competition and gave exhibitors a good look at what could be expected come July when competition recommences.
Grand prix action saw its winner in Addison Reed as she bested a field of 15 combinations to take the win. The Mechanicsville, VA native piloted Goliath, Reed Training & Sales LLC’s 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Zirocco Blue VDL) to the top spot, posting two penalty-free performances and the winning jump-off time in 35.18 seconds.

The next two highest-placed competitors matched the winner’s clean scorecard. Wilhelmina Horzepa (USA) and College Fund were the closest ones, earning reserve honors just three-tenths of a second behind.

Melissa Strawser (USA) and Darwin de Mars mastered the jump-off course in 36.33 seconds for bronze honors.
