Wellington, Florida, USA – April 12, 2024 – Every rider has an idol in the noble sport, but in Andrew Welles‘ (USA) case, he has a different idol in his barn, that is Idol H&H. On Friday, he rode the 11-year-old bay Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Action Breaker x Glennridge) in the $32,000 Freejump Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 3* during the second week of the 2024 ESP Spring Series, presented by Florida Coast Equipment.

Mexico’s Ana Catalina “Catsy” Cruz (MEX) designed the courses for 52 athletes. Clear rounds were few and far between during the first half of the class, but came like a storm near the end of the day. Twelve jumped clear in the opening round with 11 electing to jump-off. 

Andrew Welles (USA) guided Idol H&H Welles to finish second in the 42.22 seconds for owners Itasca Group & Evergreen Stables.

1) David O’Brien (IRL) & El Balou OLD – 0 / 0 – 40.89

2) Andrew Welles (USA) & Idol H&H – 0 / 0 – 42.22
