
Wellington, Florida, USA – March 02, 2024 – It was a busy day on Saturday during the eighth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at Wellington International. The $50,000 Hermès National Grand Prix served as the appetizer before the $150,000 Nations Cup CSIO 4*. If the host nation did not claim the team competition. the star-spangled banner was raised high in the 1.50m class thanks to 19-year-old Ansgar Holtgers, Jr. (USA) who returned to his winning ways in the with Tulum, owned by Gut Einhaus, LLC.
The American and the 15-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Chacco-Blue x Captain Paul) were supreme, overcoming seven other combinations in the jump-off by clearing all the fences and crossing the finish line in 36.922 seconds.
Fellow U.S. rider Jimmy Torano (USA) took second riding Kochio Z for owners Isalou, Inc. & JET Show Stables. British Olympic Champion Ben Maher (GBR) rounded out the podium in third riding Exit Remo for owners Pamela Wright and Charlotte Rossetter.
