
Bromont, Québec, Canada – July 29, 2013 – America’s Kama Godek (USA) (Fairfax Station, VA) opened the FEI division with a win Thursday afternoon, in the CSI2* 1.40m Speed class presented by Soltek Equestrian. Riding her own Conny 409, Godek managed to tighten the lines just enough to finish at the top with a clean round in 54.34 seconds, to squeak ahead of second placed Alexanne Thibault (CAN) and Cidanos Z with their time of 54.42 seconds. Third went to David Arcand (CAN) (Boisbriand, QC) riding his own Phil V/D Wezelse Heihoeve, finishing just fractions of a second behind in 54.56 seconds.
Highlights of the weekend include Saturday’s $5,000 Hunter Derby sponsored by Izada Equine, and the feature class the $45,900 Grand Prix CSI 2* 1.45m sponsored by the Government of Quebec. The Sunday Grand Prix will be streamed on the event’s Facebook page facebook.com/internationalbromont. A fun dog & horse “Canine Equine Challenge” will start at approximately noon each Sunday before the Grand Prix.
About International Bromont For more than four decades, International Bromont has welcomed renowned riders, the young up-and-coming, passionate amateurs and all horse lovers to the Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park. In 2023, the organizers of International Bromont will host international show jumping, driving and dressage across multiple FEI levels up to 3*. For the International Bromont 2023, over 600 horses will compete for over $350,000 in prize money over two weeks.
