Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – October 31, 2021 – The American flag was present on the podium last Sunday during the closing day of the Sunshine Tour‘s October Series. Julie Welles (USA) and Greatfull jumped towards a third-place finish in the €26,000 Diputación de Cadiz Grand Prix CSI 2*.

The winner of the 1.45m class was Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) aboard Jorden van de Kruishoeve. A total of 70 combinations faced the 1.45m first round course with seventeen of them doing so without having any penalties attributed to them. The Portuguese renowned rider and the 12-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) secured the win in 31.94 seconds.

Edouard Schmitz (SUI) and Balenciana K (Balou du Rouet x Grosso) put Switzerland on the podium, registering the second-fastest clean jump-off effort after being timed in 32.17 seconds.

Julie Welles (USA) and Greatfull completed the podium with no penalties and a time of 32.31 seconds during the tiebreaker.
